Yokogawa offers AQ6370E optical spectrum analyzer

June 22, 2023
The OSA is an upgraded version of the company’s AQ6370D that offers enhanced performance and improved usability.

Yokogawa Test & Measurement Corp. says its new AQ6370E optical spectrum analyzer (OSA) will be released June 26, 2023. The OSA is an upgraded version of the company’s AQ6370D that offers enhanced performance and improved usability. Yokogawa expects technicians will use the AQ6370E to characterize a variety of components, including optical communications lasers, optical transceivers, and optical amplifiers.

One enhancement over the AQ6370D OSA is a high close-in dynamic range (HCDR) mode that enables the measurement of a single longitudinal mode laser with such a high close-in dynamic range. Another upgrade is the side mode suppression ratio (SMSR) mode, which can reduce SMSR measurement time. A new APP mode provides a device under test (DUT) specific user interface that the company says makes navigation from configuration settings to test result output easier.

The AQ6370E also has a large LCD touch screen for even easier and more intuitive operation of the instrument. Yokogawa expects the AQ6370E will  meet the CE marking requirements by the end of this month.
