The new HxGN Networks in the cloud platform enable digital network planning and operations transformation.

Hexagon’s Safety, Infrastructure and Geospatial division has unveiled its software-as-a-service (SaaS) offering HxGN Networks in the cloud designed to help utilities and telecoms companies looking to modernize asset management.

HxGN Networks in the cloud is a fully managed SaaS geospatial asset management solution for utilities and communications. In addition to providing all features and functions of the on-premises HxGN Networks suite, the cloud-based solution includes hosted IT infrastructure and preventive and corrective maintenance services, allowing companies to reduce capital expenditures.

In 2022, Hexagon’s Safety, Infrastructure & Geospatial division rebranded its portfolio of infrastructure solutions to HxGN NetWorks. Hexagon’s products, including Intergraph G/Technology, Fiber Optic Works, G/Connect and G!NIUS, were renamed HxGN NetWorks suites.

The platform helps utilities and telecom providers build digital twins of their physical networks, topology and assets. HxGN Networks in the cloud is an integration-ready geospatial asset management solution that provides a single source of accurate, up-to-date information and a full spectrum of tools for different users across the business. It is currently used by more than 600 customers worldwide to design, build, manage and maintain physical networks, including electric, gas, water, wastewater, multiutility and fiber.

With HxGN Networks in the cloud, companies can benefit from cybersecurity features, including identity and access management, encryption and threat detection. It also allows companies to better store and analyze the large amounts of data generated by smart grid devices to make more informed network operations decisions.

“HxGN Networks in the cloud is not only cost-effective for our customers but also gives them the security and peace of mind that their data is safe and their systems are optimized,” said Maximilian Weber, senior vice president, global utilities and communications, Hexagon’s Safety, Infrastructure and Geospatial division.
