Zayo, Fermaca Networks pair for U.S.-Mexico fiber connectivity

The collaboration will see Fermaca’s upcoming FN-1 long-haul dark fiber network linked with Zayo’s fiber infrastructure.

Zayo Group Holdings, Inc. says it will partner with Fermaca Networks to provide connectivity between the U.S. and Mexico. The collaboration will see Fermaca’s upcoming FN-1 long-haul dark fiber network linked with Zayo’s fiber infrastructure.

Fermaca expects FN-1, which will run between El Paso, TX, and Queretaro, Mexico, to be ready for service late in 2025 (see “Fermaca Networks plans FN-1 fiber route between West Texas and Central Mexico”). FN-1 will be paired with Zayo’s redundant links in the U.S. to enable cross-border connectivity that Zayo asserts will be reliable, secure, and diverse. The company adds that Queretaro is becoming an increasingly large data center hub, with more than a billion dollars invested in the area over the last 10 years.

"Our partnership with Fermaca marks an exciting milestone for Zayo as we continue to push the boundaries of connectivity for the digital age,” said Andrés Irlando, president of Zayo. “The expectations for continued growth throughout Mexico are tremendous. We are excited to partner with Fermaca on their investment to deliver the modern IT infrastructure and cross-border connectivity our customers need to stay ahead of the digital curve.”

“We are thrilled to partner with Zayo to deliver greater value and reach to our clients and help them compete in their industries and around the world,” added Daniel Elguea, CEO at Fermaca Dreams. “The combination of Zayo’s network assets in the U.S. and Fermaca’s deep expertise in fiber networks in Mexico enable us to deepen our relationship with clients and give them peace of mind that their data and IT environments are in safe hands.”
