The home network gateway will support gigabit broadband with Wi-Fi 6 and 2.5 Gbps Ethernet WAN/LAN (switchable) support.

CommScope has added the NVG578LX 2.5G GPON Wi-Fi 6 residential gateway to its Wi-Fi 6 portfolio. The home network gateway will support gigabit broadband with Wi-Fi 6 and 2.5 Gbps Ethernet WAN/LAN (switchable) support.

The unit complements CommScope’s previously released 10G NVG578SX gateway with Wi-Fi 6. The two NVG578 gateways support the delivery of high-speed voice, video, data and IoT services.

The NVG578LX gateway supports voice-over-IP, data and, streaming broadcast-quality video services. It also offers multiple LAN interfaces:

  1. One 2.5G Ethernet WAN/LAN port, three 1G Ethernet LAN ports
  2. Dual-band Wi-Fi 6, including 4-GHz 3x3 802.11ax and 5-GHz 4x4 802.11ax.

Currently available, the NVG578LX residential gateway has formed part of Ziply Fiber’s ongoing fiber to the premises roll-outs. Service providers can pair the NVG578LX gateway with the X5 Wi-Fi Extenders for mesh Wi-Fi requirements.

“With more of us working and learning from home, consumers are demanding faster speeds and improved Wi-Fi performance,” said German Iaryczower, Senior Vice President, Broadband Home Solutions, CommScope. “This high performance Wi-Fi 6 residential gateway gives service providers a cost-effective solution to deliver the in-home connectivity experience their customers need.”
